Food Pantries- Fulton County
Obtain a pantry card at Salvation Army- Gloversville
- Requirements for obtaining a pantry card: Identification for all household members. (Social Security Cards are not acceptable I.D.) Proof of address - a piece of current mail is preferred for each adult. Date of birth & Social Security number are also required. When filling out application, you will be asked your rent & utility cost, as well as income for all household members.

Free Meal Programs
Montgomery County

Montgomery Co. Office for the Aging Home-delivered meals: Available following an assessment to eligible home-bound people 60 and older. There are no income-eligibility requirements. Congregate Meals: hot noon meals at four dining cafes for those 60 and older and their spouses regardless of age. No income-eligibility requirements. Call 843-1478 or 673-5048 the day before to reserve a meal. All meal sites are open at 11:30 a.m. and serve at noon Monday through Friday. Evening meals with entertainment are offered at each of the four cafes, which open at 4 p.m. and serve at 5 p.m. Reservations should be made by the Wednesday prior to the evening meal. Call for a schedule. A registration, which includes a nutritional risk assessment, is required annually for all meal participants.

WIC- Women, Infants, and Children program
Fulmont Community Action Agency, Inc. 853-8363 A supplemental food/ educational program for pregnant, breast-feeding, and post-partum women, and children up to age 5. Vouchers for nutritious foods, including infant formula, to income eligible families. An intake can be taken over the telephone. Once an appointment is made individuals will need to bring proof of income, proof of residence and I.D. At that time, all applicants will need to complete a general screening form. If eligible, individuals will receive a voucher listing the specific foods or items they can purchase.

A community food buying club. For $14 each month (pre-paid, cash only) you can receive food at lower-than-retail prices. The foods are different each month. No obligation to buy each month. No income guidelines. Pre-pay near beginning of month, receive food near end of the month, a good way to make sure you have food at the end of the month.
