Parent to Parent of New York State is based on the philosophy that parents, who themselves have experienced the joys and frustrations of raising a child with a special need, can offer other parents a valuable resource. Trained volunteers provide emotional support and information by telephone or email to other families who face similar challenges. Whether it’s for a new diagnosis, a hospitalization, or a life transition, talking with another family who’s “been there” can be extremely helpful.
